Final Results: Best Songs of the Late 1990's and Early 2000's
Thirty seconds into the video for Third-Eye Blind's "Semi-Charmed Life," lead singer Stephan Jenkins inexplicably rams his shoulder into the exterior wall of a closed business. Then he does a little spin move and goes on about his walk like nothing ever happened. Kind of weird!
That's pretty much how I feel about this bracket -- it happened, didn't really make sense, let's just move on. Hence the Friday afternoon post.
On yesterday's episode of the venerable Rimcast, we announced the astonishing final results of the championship showdown between 3EB and R. Kelly's "Ignition (Remix)," hot and fresh out the kitchen. Jenkins et al railroaded the billion-record-selling Robert Kelly, 76% to 24%. The results were so surprising I considered calling in a third-party auditor to snuff out any indications of foul play/vote rigging. I would have given you 2,500-1 odds before the tournament. Hell, "Semi-Charmed Life" might not even be the best Third Eye Blind song from this era! Stone-cold stunner.
As always, thanks for voting. If you think I'm riled up now, wait until next year when Pringles defeat Stax in the first round of the Snack Bracket. |ES|
